This poor horse found himself alone in one of the most terrifying places; on the edge of the Colombian jungle. Somehow, he fell into a ditch made from water and ground stones. Luckily, people came around to help the poor horse get out of the water.
The police were called to the rural town of Dagua in the Valle del Cauca region after people called them to rescue the poor horse who was stuck in the dangerous waters. The police attached ropes to pull the horse out of the murky pitch. But the rescue couldn’t have happen until a brave boy jumped into the water and started to push the horse from behind and continued the rescue process successfully.
Thanks to the efforts of such good hearted people, these two poor souls survived. Share with your friends and family!
How are horses chosen to work with the police? With entry requirements more rigorous than the U.S. Navy Seals, only 10% of the horses brought in to the San Francisco mounted police unit will make it through basic training. It takes a very special horse to beats those odds.
We have all heard of therapy animals such as dogs or bunnies; but what about horses? This new kind of therapy animal brings magic to whoever it visits. Gentle Carousel Miniature Therapy Horses is an all volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity. The team of tiny horses visits over 45,000 adults and children each year inside hospitals, hospice programs, police stations, fire stations and visit with children who have experienced traumatic events.
From the school children and first responders of Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT to the tornado survivors of Moore, OK, child trafficking victims in Washington D.C. and even children living in orphanages in Greece, these tiny horses bring their special love where it is needed most.
Gentle Carousel's award winning literacy program, Reading Is Magic, also brings real horses inside schools, at risk youth programs and libraries to inspire young readers and "bring books to life". These 'tiny' heroes are bringing HUGE love to the world!
We've been thinking about making this video for months, but it was important to get it right. We’re not trying to run some sort of petting zoo here – it’s a bit more complicated than that. Lots of people find animals easier to relate to than other people. (Of course people are animals too, but you know what I mean.) Children especially can find a simpler relationship with a dog or a horse than with a classroom full of noisy competitive peers.
So we help them build a relationship with whatever animal they choose, and within that relationship explore boundaries and abilities and skills. It’s all very interesting and often incredibly exciting and rewarding, for me (Sandra) and for the children (mostly) who come to visit. UPDATE 4/28/15: Thank you all for your kind words and support! Since Megan's and my engagement, we have gotten married on the beautiful beaches of The Bahamas. In fact, we recently celebrated our two year wedding anniversary and are expecting our first child later this year! I have a hunch our child will grow up and become best buds with Jackson
We have been truly blessed thus far, and are excited to see what else our journey has in store for us!
This is a compilation of the 2 hours leading up to and including my proposal to my now fiancée, condensed down into a short 10 minute video. Because Megan has grown up around horses all her life, I knew she would absolutely LOVE if her own horse was involved in this special moment. Here is my proposal to her in the barn where her horse, Jackson, lives... And yes, Jackson, played a huge role in this surprise marriage proposal! Thank you
Here are a bunch of clips from some of our performances at the fair! Oreo did AMAZING he always stayed with me even when we were running full speed tackless, in a big scary arena with people cheering. I am so lucky to own such a special little horse...
