It seems a bit odd to clip the fluffy warm coat of your horse in the winter time - but if they're doing any work at all then they will probably get too hot with it all on. Hot horses sweat buckets and then they can get a chill. And ours get hot because they all work - even through the winter. Riding, driving, jumping and logging are the most energetic things they do at this time of year - but soon it will be time for ploughing again too.. So this is how I clip our horses..
